Blue Exorcist anime adaptation revealed that the opening song for season 3 – Shimane Illuminati Saga is UVERworld’s “Eye Sentry” in a new version of the trailer. The band also did theme songs for the previous seasons, “Core Pride” in the first season and “Drop’s Influence” in the second. Studio VOLN is animating the third season, which premieres in January 2024.
The first trailer for the third season was revealed during the Aniplex Online Fest 2023. As previously announced, the main cast is returning and includes:
- Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rin Okumura
- Jun Fukuyama as Yukio Okumura
- Kana Hanazawa as Shiemi Moriyama
- Eri Kitamura as Izumo Kamiki
Kazue Kato’s Ao no Ekusoshisuto manga debuted in April 2009 in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine. The series was translated as Blue Exorcist and is currently being serialized via MANGA Plus. The manga series has published 29 volumes and has over 25mn copies in circulation. The Kyoto Impure Arc that was adapted in season 2 is followed by the Terror of the Kraken and Academy Seven Wonders arcs in the manga. After that, Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga follows.
