The Elusive Samurai anime revealed a new key visual during Jump Festa 2024. Studio CloverWorks is in charge of the animation production for the series that will air in 2024. Fans can check out the new key visual below:

The Elusive Samurai Anime Gets New Shizuku Visual and Character Teaser Video
Yuta Yamazaki (Love Rice) will be directing the series with Yoriko Tomita (My Dress-Up Darling) handling the series composition and script. Yasushi Nishiya (Pokemon: The Movie (20-23) is in charge of the character designs.
Asaki Yuikawa will voice the main protagonist Hojo Tokiyuki. She’ll be joined by Yūichi Nakamura, who is voicing the role of Suwa Yorishige. Yuikawa, a newer voice actress, will be voicing the main character Yuu Azuma in the upcoming anime film Trapezium. Her colleague Nakamura is best known for his role as Satarou Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen and Hawks from My Hero Academia. Other cast members that have been announced for The Elusive Samurai anime include the following:
- Kazama Genba: Aoi Yuuki (Mami Nanami – Rent-A-Girlfriend)
- Shizuku: Hinaki Yano (Momoe Sawaki – Wonder Egg Priority)
- Fubuki: Kikunosuke Toya (Denji – Chainsaw Man)
- Kojirou: Mari Hino (Shushu Suruga – Chained Soldier)
- Ayako: Sayumi Suzushiro (Kurena Kukumila – 86 Eighty-Six)
The Elusive Samura is a manga written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump at the start of 2021. The ongoing series has published a total of 137 chapters with currently 13 volumes. VIZ Media licenses the series in English and has the first 9 volumes already published. The Elusive Samurai Volume 10 (English) will be released on February 6, 2024.

After the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal retainers who have also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly odd Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and foretells that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for the moment, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!
