The upcoming 2024 anime The Elusive Samurai released a new visual for Shizuku, who will be voiced by Hinaki Yano (Yu Takasaki, Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club). Check out the new teaser video and visual below:
As previously announced, the cast includes:
- Asaka Yuikawa as Tokiyuki Hojo
- Yuichi Nakamura as Yorishige Suwa
- Hinaki Yano as Shizuku
- Mari Hino as Kojiro
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako
- Aoi Yuki as Genba Kazama
- Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki
The staff for The Elusive Samurai anime includes:

The Elusive Samurai hasn’t released much information since the anime was announced in March. However, at Aniplex Online Festival 2023, fans saw the first teaser trailer for the main character, Tokiyuki Hojo. Yusei Matsui’s The Elusive Samurai has been published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since January 2021 and has been collected into 12 volumes to date. The series was also licensed in North America by VIZ Media. This marks Matsui’s third manga to receive an anime adaptation, after the popular Assassination Classroom and Neuro: Supernatural Detective.

After the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal retainers who have also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly odd Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and foretells that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for the moment, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!
