The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 episode 15 preview is now out. While the students prepare for an upcoming exam, they also find small entertainment as a way to relax. Rian challenges Philomela to a game and although he wins, there is not the slightest hint of joy in his eyes.
The episode titled “Needs Must When the Devil Drives I” will air on October 19, 2023 (Thursday) at 22:00 JST and will be available on Crunchyroll and Bilibili in selected regions. See the preview images below:

Part 2 of The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 also recently revealed a creditless version of its opening theme, “Nemurasareta Lineage,” performed by JUNNA. The ending theme, “fam” by Yuyu was also revealed in a recent trailer. Studio Kafka is producing the anime under the direction of Kazuaki Terasawa.
The Ancient Magus’ Bride anime is based on a manga by Kore Yamazaki. WIT Studio animated the series’ first season in 2017 with 24 episodes. The season was preceded by a three-episode OVA series titled The Ancient Magus’ Bride: Those Awaiting a Star. In 2021, Studio Kafka animated the OAD series titled The Boy from the West and the Knight of the Blue Storm. Crunchyroll describes the plot of The Ancient Magus’ Bride Season 2 as:
Chise was able to accept Elias and herself, if not necessarily everything about her situation. After Cartaphilus fell back into a slumber that would not last forever, Chise was able to go back to her regular life. Then she receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages called the College. Under the British Library exists a secret society of mages. Encounters and interactions with people are about to open some new doors. This is a story about saving yourself to save another.
