Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2 Reveals Teaser Visual, Casts Ryota Suzuki

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Season 2 unveiled the first teaser visual at the Jump Festa ’24 stage. Chiaki Kobayashi, Yumiri Hanamori, Kensho Ono, and Ryohei Kimura attended the event. Ryota Suzuki is joining the cast as Yamada Asaemon Shugen, who briefly appeared in the anime in the previous season.

The sequel was announced on July 1 of this year, after the finale of the first season. Studio MAPPA animated the first season of the anime with Kaori Makita as the director, Koji Hisaki as the character designer, and Yoshiaki Dewa as the music composer. Akira Kindaichi did the series composition. The main cast featured:

Crunchyroll is streaming the Hell’s Paradise anime worldwide and describes the plot as:
The Edo period is nearing its end. Gabimaru, a shinobi formerly known as the strongest in Iwagakure who is now a death row convict, is told that he will be acquitted and set free if he can bring back the Elixir of Life from an island that is rumored to be the Buddhist pure land Sukhavati. In hopes of reuniting with his beloved wife, Gabimaru heads to the island along with the executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri. Upon arriving there, they encounter other death row convicts in search of the Elixir of Life… as well as a host of unknown creatures, eerie manmade statues, and the hermits who rule the island. Can Gabimaru find the Elixir of Life on this mysterious island and make it back home alive?

The anime is adapting Yuji Kaku’s Hell’s Paradise manga which has been serialized from 2018 to 2021 in the Shonen Jump+ online magazine. Shihei Lin, known for his work on Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family manga, was the editor. Viz Media licensed the manga in English.

Hell’s Paradise anime will be hosting an exhibit at the Tokyo Anime Center, starting on February 2, 2024.
