SAO: Progressive - Scherzo of Deep Night Release Postponed Due to COVID-19

Release of the upcoming Sword Art Online (SAO): Progressive – Scherzo of Deep Night movie has been postponed due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in Japan. The movie was originally scheduled to open on September 10. A special Scherzo of Deep Night screening that was scheduled for August 24 has also been postponed, and tickets for it will be refunded.

The second movie in the Progressive series, which explores the Aincrad arc in full, recently revealed a special IMAX visual. The trailer for the movie animated by A-1 Pictures was recently revealed:

Sword Art Online: Progressive light novel series is written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by Kiseki Himura. It features character designs by Bunbun. It started serialization in 2012 in Dengeki G’s Magazine. The latest, 8th volume was published on June 10 of this year.

Sword Art Online is a light novel series by Reki Kawahara that started in 2009. It spawned multiple TV anime adaptations, movies, manga, and light novels. The latest installment of the TV anime series was Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld: Part II, which aired in the summer of 2020. A separate movie series, which focuses on the Sword Art Online: Progressive light novels started last year.
