The previously announced Undead Girl Murder Farce has cast Sayumi Suzushiro as Annie Kerber, who is a mysterious newspaper reporter. A character visual for Kerber has been also released, check it out below:
It’s a genre I’ve never touched before, but the more I read about it, the more I was drawn to its novel setting, unique atmosphere, and weirdness in a good way. When I saw this work, I wondered why I hadn’t read it until now. Annie is a newspaper reporter, and I’ve always admired the role of a reporter, so I was very happy when it was decided that I would be able to play the role.

Suzuhiro is known for her roles as Kei Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Kurena Kukumila in 86: Eighty Six, Nine-Head in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Lady Anne Neville in Requiem of the Rose King, Haru Nabatame in Shine Post, Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi The Rock!, Dodonko in KonoSuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World!, and Ami Tsuruga in The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses.
Previously announced cast members include Tomoyo Kurosawa as Aya Rindo, Taku Yasiro as Tsugaru Shinuchi, and Makoto Koichi as Shizuku Hasei. Studio Lapintrack is animating the series and premieres this July. The staff for the anime includes:
The Undead Girl Murder Farce anime is based on a currently ongoing novel series by Yugo Aosaku. Air Gear and Tenjo Tenge author (also known as Bakemonogatari artist), Oh! great did the cover illustrations. A manga adaptation by Haruka Tomoyama is also ongoing. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English and there are currently three volumes out: the last one came out in 2021.
Crunchyroll will be streaming the anime as part of their Fuji TV +Ultra partnership. The streaming platform describes the plot as:
The 19th century — a world inhabited by vampires, golems, werewolves and other paranormal creatures. Immortal beauty and disembodied head Aya Rindo, along with half-human-half-demon “Demon Killer” Tsugaru Shunichi and her loyal maid Shizuku Hasei, travels through Europe as supernatural detective “The Cage User,” solving supernatural mysteries while she searches for her lost body.
