The Case Study of Vanitas part 2 has released a new trailer that focuses on the Hellfire Witch – Jeanne. Part 2 of the series premieres on January 14, 2022.
The video is titled “The Executioner Hunting the Bait Edition”, and you can watch it below:
The video is the 3rd PV for the anime’s sequel. The official website will release a total of 6 short trailers ahead of part 2’s premiere. The first PV is titled “Beast of Gévaudan”, and was released together with the anime’s new key visual, while the second one featured the new characters Chloé and Jean-Jacques and was titled “Hidden Vampire Edtion“.
The first cour of The Case Study of Vanitas aired in the Summer 2021 anime season and had a total of 12 episodes. Studio Bones (Noragami) animated the series, while Tomoyuki Itamura (Monogatari series) directed it. The same director and studio of the anime will also work on part 2.

Square Enix has been serializing Jun Mozuchi’s The Case Study of Vanitas manga series since December 2015, and it currently has 9 volumes with 55 chapters available. Yen Press is publishing The Case Study of Vanitas manga series in English. The second cour will adapt Volume 5:
The Beast of Gévaudan, which once plunged France into terror, has risen again in the nineteenth century. As Vanitas and the others investigate the relationship between the Beast and the vampires, they find their way barred by the paladin Astolfo and Jeanne, the Hellfire Witch.
