The Detective Is Already Dead Is Getting An Anime

On the page for Comic Alive’s March 2021 issue on Kadokawa’s website, it was confirmed that “The Detective Is Already Dead” (Tantei was mou, Shindeiru.) is getting an anime adaptation. Nigojuu began the light novel in 2019, and the art is drawn by Umibouzu. There are currently 4 volumes, and the anime is set to cover the Reminiscence Chapter arc, which means the first 3 volumes. It will be titled “The Detective is Already Dead -the lost memory-“. There is also a manga adaptation, which started on May 27, 2020 with story and art by Mugiko. The cover of the first volume:

The story of Tantei wa mou, Shindeiru. follows Kimihiko Kimitsuka, a young man who four years ago became the assistant of a mysterious detective known as “Siesta” on a hijacked airplane. Together, Kimihiko and Siesta went on mind-boggling, globe-trotting adventures while combatting a secret organization. But all of that came to an end when they were separated by Siesta’s death. In the present day, Kimihiko tries to return to an ordinary, boring life as a high school student. But things are never that simple, even though the detective is already dead. (Crunchyroll)

No details are known about the anime for “The Detective is Already Dead”, but we may get an announcement soon.
