The Detective is Already Dead anime is getting a season 2. The is still no information about the air date or the studio. A teaser trailer has been released:
The main cast of the series, Saki, Miyashita (Siesta), Ayana Taketatsu (Nagisa Natsunagi), Arata Nagai (Kimihiko Kimizuka), and Kanon Tako (Yui Saikawa) can be heard in the teaser trailer. The video shows different illustrations from the light novel series, which are drawn by Umibozu. The video also includes a new original drawing, which serves as an announcement visual:
The first season of the anime ended on September 19, 2021, after a total of 12 episodes. Manabu Kurihara directed it at studio ENGI. You can watch the series on Crunchyroll. A teaser visual for the sequel has also been revealed:
The manga and light novel adaptation of The Detective is Already Dead have multiple artists who also joined in to draw special illustrations to commemorate the announcement. Illustrations by Mugiko (who draws the manga adaptation), Poni (The Detective Is Already Dead: The Lost Memory manga), and the illustrator of the official Twitter manga, Nikuman were posted:
The Detective is Already Dead is a Japanese light novel series written by Nigozyu and illustrated by Umibozu. Media Factory started publishing the series in November 2019 and it currently has 6 volumes in circulation. The same publisher has been serializing a manga adaptation by Mugiko since 2020, and as of now, it has 4 volumes available. The Detective Is Already Dead: The Lost Memory manga, which adapts the second volume of the light novel, is also currently ongoing, with Poni’s art.
