The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!) is a Japanese light novel series by Daisuke Aizawa. Enterbrain is serializing it with Tozai’s illustrations, and it currently has 4 volumes in circulation. The first 9 episodes of the anime adapted the first volume of the light novel. Cid pays a visit to the Sacred Land, where he finds himself getting roped into the Goddess’s Trial.
