Tite Kubo: Involved With Bleach TYBWA Anime Production, Most Excited for Yhwach vs Yamamoto

As we get closer to the BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Arc (TYBWA), Viz has shared an interview with the BLEACH creator Tite Kubo, and he talked about being involved with the animation production process, that he’s most excited for the fight between Yhwach and Yamamato, his thoughts on the new anime, and a lot more.

He said that the Thousand-Year Blood War is different compared to the original anime. With the former, he drew it thinking about the anime and its restrictions. However, he didn’t worry about that in TYBW, so he even drew some scenes that he thought would be too heavy for an anime adaptation. Still, he says they aren’t likely to be cut, and fans can look forward to a faithful adaptation.

The BLEACH creator also said that the animation and color design will be different, and that he wanted the anime to use modern, temporary coloring. There were also many battles that didn’t make it to the manga due to many new characters appearing in the final arc, and he hopes to help include them in the new anime.

For the fight between Yhwach and Yamamoto, he said that it looks like it will be amazing from what he’s seen so far. He’s also been sending battle and design ideas, and he says it’s safe to say he’s involved with every step of the production process. He gives more interesting comments in the full video, which you can watch on Viz’s official YouTube channel below:

Studio Pierrot also produced the TV anime adaptation of Tite Kubo’s BLEACH manga, which aired between October 2004 and March 2012 with a total of 366 episodes. VIZ Media licensed it in English, and they describe the TYBW story:

The peace is suddenly broken when warning sirens blare through the Soul Society. Residents there are disappearing without a trace and nobody knows who’s behind it, meanwhile, a dark shadow is also extending itself toward Ichigo and his friends in Karakura Town…
