Osamake flips a common anime trope upside down – childhood friends, rejoice!
Time and time again, our favorite girls always end up in second place for being the main character’s childhood friend, and we’ve had enough of it! Luckily, there’s a new series coming this spring.
Picture this: “A Romantic Comedy Where the Childhood Friend Absolutely Will Not Lose.” This is, funny enough, the title of the said anime.
This show, commonly known as Osamake, is scheduled to air on April 14, 2021. Takashi Naoya directs the series at studio Doga Kobo.
We are introduced to Sueharu Maru, a regular high school student and former child actor. His childhood friend and next-door neighbor Kuroha Shida confesses her feelings to him after his middle school graduation. Unfortunately, he doesn’t feel the same and turns her down… Ouch.
Later on, we also meet Shirokusa Kachi, their school’s cold beauty and famous author. What’s more, she also happens to be Suehara’s first love. During their days in high school, Shirokusa and Sueharu develop an intimate bond, which got him thinking that he might have a shot with her.
This time, he confesses his own feelings to the author. Sadly, he got turned down as well. Even worse, he finds out she has a boyfriend!
Sulky from the rejection, his childhood friend Kuroha Shida offers the idea to pretend that they’re dating. Moreover, they’ll do this as means of revenge, and to make Shirokusa jealous. Intrigued with the plan, our protagonist agrees to the idea. Given these points, we have the perfect formula for the this April’s upcoming hit Romcom.
The manga readers are stoked with the release of this anime. With it’s hilarious story, cute elements, and touching moments, this Spring anime is surely going to tug on the viewer’s heartstrings.
Crunchyroll will stream the series not only in North, Central and South America as well as Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. Also, Muse Communications will stream the series in Southeast Asia.
What’s more, we have news and features coming your way this Spring on Anime Corner, so keep reading!
