Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina Episode 9 Is Not Family Friendly

Comfortable, light, cheerful, family friendly — these are the words that come to mind when I was thinking of Wandering Witch before I saw the anime. While some stories are carefree, some convey the most subtle of the scenes and details of the tragedy. Even so, Episode 9 was something that only light-novel readers saw coming. Something that nobody would have expected and something that was extremely disturbing. Beware, as there will be spoilers in the next part of the article.

Although the episode started like any other, Elaina decided to find a job because she was running out of money. When she saw an offer with a big payout, she decided to take it. That’s how the story of the 9th episode began. We knew that this episode wasn’t going to be the lightest. It was a story about a murder that happened 10 years ago. After hearing the story from Estelle, Elaina decided to help her out by saving her best friend, Selena. I thought I was prepared for what was supposed to happen because of the warning of the contents of the episode. The amount of blood and injuries shown in the middle of the episode on Estelle were nothing compared to the end of the episode. In a series like Wandering Witch, I never expected to see a decapitated body with its head. It was just tragic and brutal, and I don’t know if anything is going to be able to get over it anytime soon.

If you’re reading this without watching the anime, go and watch it. There’s still three episodes left, and there’s no telling what’s going to happen in them.
