Zombieland Saga: Revenge Episode 5 — Lily the Super Twinkling Star

The zombie idols are back with another gig to save Saga! It is time for Lily to shine! Episode 5 is titled “Little Bodda Bope Saga.” Once more, the mission for vengeance continues!

Zombieland Saga: Revenge Episode 5 — Lily wants to go to Japan Got Performance!

“Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 5 begins with Lily taking the lead to assemble the meeting. Kotaro isn’t able to do his loud entrance so he sits down and even sulks a bit. While in front, Lily radiates confidence and positivity as she tells everyone about her plan. She’s going to join the national TV show, “Japan Got Performance!” The rest of the girls are very supportive, as they even prepare cheering props!

At the event, Lily meets a boy named Light Oozora. He is a proud and famous child prodigy actor and they quickly become the top competitors. For the final round, Light charmingly sings a beautiful song. However, Lily realizes they have the same song. She has to improvise quickly! She performs a scat rendition of the same song and it turns out amazing. It is received well by the audience. Unfortunately, Lily doesn’t win the ticket for the next round.

Zombieland Saga: Revenge Episode 5 — Lily performing at Japan Got Performance

As “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 5 comes to a close, we find Light feeling disheartened. As a result, Lily tells him that they both have goals and should keep going forward. Lily is going to keep twinkling to reach her and Franchouchou’s goals!

Even though Lily lost the contest, her dance performance becomes a viral video. This is a win itself! The highlight of “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 5 is definitely Lily’s bright “twinkling” determination to “fly” through anything. All in all, it’s a light, fun, and wholesome episode.

Also, I am always excited to see Kotaro in every new episode of “Zombieland Saga: Revenge.” Mainly because of his eccentric character and how Mamoru Miyano brings him to life. My favorite scene here is Kotaro’s impersonation of a mating mudskipper. I was shocked. Maybe it was to set the bar low for Lily’s performance? Anyhow, I felt second-hand embarrassment while watching it. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud! It was just so hilarious and silly.

In addition, a trivia for this episode is that the voice actor of child prodigy Light is Takayama Minami! She is the same voice actor of the iconic Detective Conan! An interesting reference right?

This anime is always a delight to watch. Overall, it has lovely art and fun storytelling. If you enjoyed this “Zombieland Saga: Revenge” episode 5, make sure to vote for it on our weekly poll!
