SM North EDSA has officially kicked off its Animezing North: JUJUTSU KAISEN pop-up event with its supersized recreation of the anime’s famous Shibuya Incident arc. The immersive event is filled with photo opportunities with favorite characters that fans would definitely not want to miss out on – from the high-quality standees and banners, exclusive merchandise, interactive photo ops, the giant prison box, and the iconic pedestrian crossing markings.
Undoubtedly, the series has come to life here at Animezing North, and it’s the perfect place for Filipino fans to experience the supernatural world of curses and sorcery for themselves. This is all thanks to their five-year partnership with Medialink and Ani-One PH, who are also just as passionate about bringing our anime and Japanese dreams closer to the Philippines.
The event is located at The Block Atrium, SM North EDSA, Quezon City, Philippines, and will run until May 26, 2025.
The Animezing North: Jujutsu Kaisen Experience
Anime Corner was invited with the honor of a first look at the place. And so, I wholeheartedly share with you that I had the most absolute fun fangirling about everyone and everything.
Unlike the giant ONE PIECE and Pokémon activations, there were no large structures that were instantly noticeable. Well, except for one – a small yet familiar QFRONT (Tsutaya) building! As soon as I recognized how the JJK poster looked exactly like the Shibuya Crossing’s iconic LED screen, my heart fluttered with excitement. On the floor, a busy Shibuya Scramble Crossing was laid out. Circling the venue were character standees of all my beloved JJK characters (except Mahito, I hate him with a passion), not to mention how the spotlighted visual artworks were so good to see in person! It was, without a doubt, a whirlwind of feels and excitement.
To be honest, my first pop-up event was the giant prison realm in Casetify’s Hong Kong event, which actually only had a single life-size Gojo. So, you can just imagine my fangirling heart when I saw 12 life-size characters here at SM North EDSA! And gosh, were they all so beautiful and handsome. It took me on a nostalgic roller coaster ride, almost as if it were classy art appreciation, but for the JJK character designs and lore. I also loved the cursed seal designs and how there were so many iconic Season 2 visuals around the area.
As a fan of the JJK series, I really, really, really loved this event. Especially since I am so excited about the hype of the upcoming JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 compilation movie, covering the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, and the Culling Game anime sequel. I think this event is just wonderful, and I really look forward to having more events (and standees) like it in the future.
That said, it makes one wonder, why are these things on display so special? This is actually one of the things I love most about SM North EDSA — you see, it’s not just any ordinary display; it’s meant to be an experience. Animezing North is steadily making a memorable place for Filipino anime fans to connect, interact, celebrate, and have fun with their favorite stories and characters. Words cannot describe how happy and thankful I am for the people who make this possible.
And so, I wholeheartedly recommend checking out the Animezing North: JUJUTSU KAISEN event! It’s free and perfect to share with anime-loving friends and family. You can also check out some of the interactive displays and amazing cosplayers that I took photos of:
