World End Economica Visual Novel Gets Anime Adaptation

On Wednesday, promotional videos for the World End Economica visual novel anime adaptation were streamed through Spicy Tails’ official YouTube channel.

On December 28, the show got crowdfunded on Kickstarter as it reached its goal of 5 million yen (around US$45,680). The entire campaign ended on January 4, going beyond the target by 919,682 yen (about US$ 9,528).

Aside from Kickstarter, the anime project also has its Campfire campaign, which surpassed a goal of 5 million yen by 14,234,500 yen (around US$ 132,753).

The original visual novel got published by Sekai Project on Steam back in 2014. Sekai Project describes the story:

Written by Isuna Hasekura, the author of Spice and Wolf, World End Economica is a three-part visual novel set in the far future on the moon, 16 years after humans have begun to colonize it. A young boy named Haru has been chasing his wildest dream — to stand where no man has stood before. To do so he needs capital… a ludicrous amount of capital. What better place to get that much money than by using the stock market?
