Aimer’s Demon Slayer Opening Zankyousanka Was the Most Popular Song in First Half of 2022

Aimer’s single “Zankyousanka“, which was used as the opening for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc, topped Billboard Japan’s overall chart ‘JAPAN HOT 100’ and was ranked as the most popular song from the first half of 2022. The song ranked first on the radio charts, downloads, and video views, winning the triple crown. It also topped the weekly charts 9 times. The period counted for the first half of 2022 is from November 29, 2021 until May 29, 2022. Behind “Zankyousanka” was Yuuri’s “Betelgeuse” in 2nd place of the ‘JAPAN HOT 100’, which was the theme song for the TV drama SUPER RICH. “Dried Flower” by Yuuri was in 4th as well. King Gnu also had 2 songs in the top 10. and they were the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 Movie theme songs “Ichizu” (“The Only Way”) and “Sakayume” (“Contradictory Dream”). The 10th place was taken by “Cry Baby” by Official Hige Dandism, which was the theme song for Tokyo Revengers.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc enjoyed huge popularity during its run, ranking 2nd in the Anime of the Season poll for Winter 2022, while Aimer’s “Zankyousanka” has frequently been on top of the most popular songs charts since its release.
