The voice actresses Hondo Kaede (Maple) and Noguchi Ruriko (Sally) appeared in a special stream today. It was to commemorate 1-year since “BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.” aired, and they revealed that season 2 of the anime will premiere in 2022. The adorable show was one of the highlights in Winter 2020, and they released a new visual for the sequel:
They also released a new image collection. Here is one of the images, priced at 3,300 yen ($32).
The story is a light hearted comedy and studio Silver Link was behind the animation production. The full synopsis of the story goes:
She may be new to gaming, but Maple has found the secret to invincibility! Just put all your skill points into defense until you can’t even move. That works, right? She doesn’t want to experience any pain in the VRMMO game she started playing, and somehow it works better than anyone expected. Now she’s got followers??

BOFURI was a very cute anime, and season 2 will surely mark 2022 in the same way when it airs. Another sweet anime “Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru” will also air in 2022!
As for the ongoing season, there is already a lot of great shows. My recommendation is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (link to article why I think it could be one of the best in 2021). You can also keep track of what our fans like on our weekly rankings and maybe decide to watch a show that’s frequently in the top 10. The season is just starting though, so maybe give it a few more days before deciding!
