Deaimon Anime Adaptation Slated For 2022

Deaimon anime adaptation is coming in 2022, the official Twitter account for the series confirmed today. Cast and staff information, as well as the key visual, were also revealed.

Nobunaga Shimazaki and Kozue Yuuki are voicing main characters, Nagomu Irino and Itsuka Yukihira respectively.

Encourage Films is animating the project, with Fumitoshi Oizaki as the director. Reiko Yoshida (Violet Evergarden) is writing the script, while Sakae Shibuya is doing character designs.

The key visual for the upcoming Deaimon anime:

The anime is based on a manga by Rin Asano which started serialization in Young Ace magazine in 2016. The story follows Nagomu who returns to Kyoto after his father gets ill. He plans to inherit the family sweets store, but he’s in for a surprise. He ends up mentoring Itsuka instead, a girl who everything sees as the shop’s successor.

The mangaka, Rin Asano, tweeted about the upcoming information, saying that she felt “half-confused” but that it’s amazing that the anime adaptation of her manga has voice actors now:

More information about the upcoming anime will be available on the 18th of September, at Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair. The festival is going ahead while following the new coronavirus measures in Japan, the official website confirmed.

While the anime still doesn’t have an official website, a Twitter account is active.
