Kagurabachi is a battle shonen manga written and illustrated by Takeru Hokazono that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump on September 19, 2023. It received an unprecedented amount of hype upon its debut and now has fans inquiring about copies of the series at bookstores in Japan to the point the official account had to put out a statement asking fans to be patient with the reprints of the first volume, which eventually came on February 27, 2024.

Since its debut, Kagurabachi has received one cover page and six color pages, most recently in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump for chapter 23, and a recommendation from My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi himself. Fans can check out the recent color page below:

Takeru Hokazono’s Background

Hokazono’s success has quietly been building up in recent years. In 2020, the author won the 100th Tezuka Manga Award for their one-shot Enten, which was later published in Jump GIGA back in the spring of 2021 alongside their other one-shots Farewell! Cherry Boy! and then CHAIN during the summer.

Hokazono later published a new one-shot titled Madogiwa de Amu in Weekly Shonen Jump #19 in April 2022 and yet another, more popular one titled Roku no Meiyaku in Weekly Shonen Jump #35-36. Now, almost two years later, Hokazono’s hard work has paid off with Kagurabachi receiving a big debut!
