Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night Unveils Key Visual Ahead of April 6 Premiere

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night revealed a new key visual ahead of the April 6 premiere date. Studio Doga Kobo is animating the original series and will be featuring the piano sound performances of YouTuber and pop pianist Harami.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night – Key Visual

The theme songs for the anime are “Irodori” by KanoeRana as the opening and “Ichinichi wa 25 Jikan” by Anna Tsurushima as the ending theme, as announced with a trailer last month. The cast includes:

  • Miku Ito as Mahiru Kozuki
  • Miyuri Shimabukuro as Mei “Kim Anouk” Takanashi
  • Miyu Tomita as Kiwi Watase
  • Rie Takahashi as Kano Yamanouchi

JELEE is credited for the original work on the Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night. Ryohei Takeshita (Ero-manga Sensei) is directing, while Yuki Yaku (Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki author) oversees the series composition and writes the screenplay. Popman3580 is credited with the character designs, with Junichiro Taniguchi on the animation character designs. Information on the cast and character hasn’t been revealed yet. The show will mark Doga Kobo’s 50th anniversary and takes place in Shibuya, Tokyo

The official website describes the story of the original anime as:
“I want to find what I like.”
Shibuya, a town overflowing with identity.
A girl drifts through Shibuya at night, unable to become what she wants to be.
One special encounter awakens a change in her.
The anonymous creative activities of girls who are experiencing creation for the first time begin…

The anime will mark Doga Kobo’s 50th anniversary. The studio was founded on July 11, 1973.
