Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night Reveals April 2024 Premiere, Additional Cast in New Trailer

The previously announced Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night anime will air this April, as announced through a new trailer. Details on additional cast and theme song information have been announced as well.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night – New Trailer

The additional cast includes Sumire Uesaka as Miko, Miho Okasaki as Mero Seto, Yukina Shuto as Momoko Yanagi, and Sally Amaki as Akari Suzumura. The announced theme songs are “Irodori” by KanoeRana as the opening and “Ichinichi wa 25 Jikan” by Anna Tsurushima as the ending theme.

Studio Doga Kobo is animating the series under the direction of Ryohei Takeshita, with Yuki Yaku doing both the scriptwriting and series composition. Meanwhile, character designers for the anime include Popman3580 for the draft and Junichiro Taniguchi for the animation. JELEE did the original work for this series.

Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night was first announced on March 2023 to celebrate Doga Kobo’s 50-year anniversary. The first two teasers can be watched here, while the third can be seen here. A main trailer was first released in November 2023. The official website lists the anime’s plot as:
“I want to find what I like.”
Shibuya, a town overflowing with identity.
A girl drifts through Shibuya at night, unable to become what she wants to be.
One special encounter awakens a change in her.
