The series announced its second season last September. Suzuki Takaaki is directing the anime with Keiichiro Ochi writing the scripts. Shoko Hagiwara is adapting the character designs from the manga that is written and illustrated by Hiroyuki which was launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2020. The cast of Girlfriend, Girlfriend will reprise their roles for season 2:

  • Junya Enoki as Naoya Mukai
  • Ayane Sakura as Saki Saki
  • Azumi Waki as Nagisa Minase
  • Ayana Taketatsu as Rika Hoshizaki
  • Rie Takahashi as Shino Kiryuu

The first season aired from July until September 2021 with studio Tezuka Productions animating the series and Satoshi Kuwara as director. Crunchyroll is streaming the first season, and they describe the story:
The protagonist, Naoya, is a first-year in high school. He asks out Saki, a girl he has been in love with, and she agrees to be his girlfriend. He’s currently on cloud nine. But then, a beautiful girl named Nagisa comes up to Naoya one day and tells him that she wants to go out with him. Naoya feels himself wavering because Nagisa is such a good girl, and he comes to a decision! A new kind of romcom from a rather unexpected decision is about to begin.

I can talk about seiyuus for days. A connoisseur of cute girls doing cute things and fluffy romance stories always make me smile. I mostly watch slice-of-life and rom-coms with drama on the side.
