The previously announced dark fantasy novel by the Goblin Slayer author Kumo Kagyu and Overlord illustrator So-Bin has revealed its title, cover and release date. The title is Blade & Bastard: Hai wa Atatakaku, Meikyuu wa Honogurai (Blade & Bastard: Warm ash, Dusky dungeon), and it will release on December 9 in Japan. You can see the cover drawn by So-Bin featuring a man and a girl, both covered in blood:

The Japanese company Drecom Media previously announced that they are launching the DRE Novels publishing imprint on October 7, 2022, and one of the light novels they will be releasing this year is the collaboration between Kumo Kagyu and So-Bin. It was tentatively titled Shinsaku Dark Fantasy (New Dark Fantasy) prior to today’s title and cover reveal.
There are several more light novels releasing in the new imprint. Three are scheduled for an October 7 release, three for a November 10 release, and two more alongside the Goblin Slayer x Overlord collaboration scheduled for December 9. Goblin Slayer season 2 was officially announced in January 2021, and a new key visual was released in March of this year. On the other hand, Overlord’s season 4 just finished airing, and its next anime will be a movie covering the Holy Kingdom Arc.
