This came after its amazing first season, which was split into 2 cours – the winter and fall of 2021. Winter was the first time fans were able to watch the adaptation by Studio Bind, which was founded mainly to produce this anime. It introduced Rudeus Greyrat and the new world he found himself in, with beautiful production week by week. Its competition that season were Attack on Titan, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Re:Zero, The Quintessential Quintuplets, among others. Despite competing against many popular sequels, it managed to rank 2nd overall, with only Attack on Titan above it. This also meant that Mushoku Tensei claimed the title of the Best New Anime of Winter 2021, setting up high anticipation for the 2nd cour of the year in fall.
