We have officially entered July of 2022 and it means new encounters of anime nature are waiting for you this summer. We took a look at the new titles of the season and found a few that were created by some very famous and familiar names. Few of them are based on manga or light novels, but some are also original works created by people who have worked on famous titles in the past.
First off, Teasing Master Takagi-san and In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki’s author, Soichiro Yamamoto’s another school life romantic comedy, When Will Ayumu Make His Move? is coming to make your summer hotter.
The plot follows Ayumu Tanaka who falls in love with a Senpai, Urushi Yaotomoe of Shogi Club. The currently ongoing romantic comedy manga series begun in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2019. Volume 12 will be released in July 2022.
Yohei Azakami (Kennosuke Tokisada Oma in Kuromukuro) is voicing the kohai Ayumu Tanaka, while Kanna Nakamura is playing the role of the Shogi club’s Urushi Yaotome. SILVER LINK is producing the anime under Mirai Minato’s direction, and the release is scheduled for July 7.
Kodansha licensed the manga for English releases and describes Volume 1 as:
Yaotome’s the president of the shogi club at her high school, and she’s pretty sure that Ayumu, an underclassman and the only other member of the club, has a huge crush on her. They get together to play shogi every day after school, but no matter what she does, she can’t seem to get him to confess his feelings! What she doesn’t know is that Ayumu has made a pact with himself to reveal his love only after he’s beaten Yaotome at shogi for the first time. Yet there’s one big issue with this plan…he really sucks!
