The official Twitter account for the upcoming Slam Dunk Movie has revealed a new teaser visual, while it previously confirmed a Fall 2022 release date. The movie was first announced in January 2021, while the TV anime aired from 1993 to 1996. Check out the new teaser visual, which lists the creator Takehiko Inoue as writer and director:
Slam Dunk is a sports comedy manga by Takehiko Inoue which ran in the Weekly Shonen Jump. It began on September 18, 1990 and ended on June 4, 1996. It had a total of 31 volumes and 276 chapters. The manga won the 40th Shogakukan Manga Award for best shonen manga in 1994. Toei Animation produced the anime adaptation, which ran from October 1, 1993 to March 23, 1996, with a total of 101 episodes. In addition to the main anime series, the franchise also spawned 4 movies.
