BN Pictures and Actus’ upcoming Wistoria: Wand and Sword anime has added three new members to the cast. The voice actor for Classroom of the Elite‘s Ryuuen, Masaaki Mizunaka, plays Sion Alster and is joined by Satomi Amano (Colette Loire) and Aoi Inase (Kiki). Tomodachi Game fans may remember Amano as Yutori Kokorogi, while Inase played Nika Aoi in Beyblade Burst. Images of the new cast with their respective characters are below.
It was also revealed that Mizunaka, Amano, and Inase will be joining the Wistoria: Wand and Sword initial cast of Kohei Amasaki (Will Serfort) and Akira Sekine as Elfaria at AnimeJapan 2024 on March 24. The AnimeJapan 2024 lineup has already been announced and voting for the annual Manga We Want to See Animated Ranking is already open. The additional cast release also provided a sense of what fans can expect from their characters:
Colette was described as: “The only daughter of the fallen aristocratic Loire family, and an aspiring mage who specializes in earth magic. She is Will’s only friend and ally at the magic academy, where many people look down on him. She doesn’t mind taking bold steps so that Will’s efforts will be rewarded. She has feelings for Will, and Will often blushes as she is at the mercy of his honest words.“
Sion: “6th year student at Regarden Magic Academy. He is the eldest son of the Alster family, a family famous for fire magic. He’s an honor student, well-respected within the school, as he is dressed in brand-name items that are purveyors of aristocrats, and his magic skills are among the top of his class. He bullies Will, who cannot use magic, along with his classmates, but what is inside his heart…? Due to his arrogant and prideful personality, he actually works hard behind the scenes.“
Kiki: “A small familiar who is always with Will. When Will goes to a dungeon, he uses his excellent sense of smell to assist him in battle. Although he cannot speak, he is always close to Will’s heart as a sidekick.“
Wistoria: Wand and Sword premieres in July 2024 and it will be directed by Chainsaw Man action director Tatsuya Yoshihara, who is also responsible for the screenplay. The anime series adapts the original manga written by DanMachi‘s Fujino Omori and illustrated by Toshi Aoi. More information on DanMachi Season 5 will be coming at GA FES 2024, as revealed in an official post to X (formerly Twitter). Fans looking for more Wistoria: Wand and Sword content can check out the new Isekai-themed visual released by Kodansha. They can also head over to the official manga, licensed in the U.S. by Kodansha USA and described:
RISE OF THE NO-TALENT Will Serfort dreams of keeping his promise to a childhood friend by becoming a Magia Vander, one of the mighty magicians who sit atop the Wizard’s Tower. However, he is unable to cast even the simplest of spells, leaving him to fight dungeon monsters to earn credits at Regarden Magical Academy. As if that weren’t enough, he finds himself putting his sword skills to the test against a bullying professor!
