Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You Season 3 – First Anime Trailer
Mamiko Noto and Daisuke Namikawa are reprising their roles as the main duo Sawako Kuronuma and Shota Kazehaya. The anime revealed a special recap video for the first two seasons on December 30, which is celebrated as Sawako’s birthday.
Karuho Shiina wrote and illustrated the Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You manga series. It was published by Shueisha in Bessatsu Margaret from 2005 to 2017 and compiled in 30 volumes. Both of the previous anime seasons were also animated by Production I.G. The first one ran for 25 episodes from Fall 2009 to Winter 2010, while the second one ran for 12 episodes in Winter 2011. A live action film was released in 2010 starring Mikako Tabe and Haruma Miura, while a 12-episode live-action series was released on Netflix in March this year.
Viz Media licensed the manga in Englsih, and they describe the story:
Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine…for a horror movie. With striking similarities to a haunting movie character–jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor–she’s mistakenly called Sadako by those around her. But behind her scary façade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when the most popular boy in class befriends her, she’s sure to make more than just that–she’s about to make some enemies too!
