TOUGEN ANKI: Legend of the Cursed Blood revealed a second seasonal visual, this time featuring Jin Kogasaki for autumn (or fall). The anime adaptation was announced in May, and it is set to premiere in 2025. Jin Kogasaki is voiced by Koutaro Nishiyama, and you can check out the new visual below.
Previously, the summer visual featured the protagonist, Shiki Ichinose. Besides Kazuki Ura as Shiki and Nishiyama as Jin, the main cast is completed by Hiroshi Kamiya as their sensei, Naito Mudano. We had the opportunity to interview all three about the anime, and we talked about the series and their characters. You check out the full interview for their thoughts. Yura Urushibara writes and draws the TOUGEN ANKI manga, which has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion magazine since June 2020. There are 21 published volumes as of September 6, and the manga has over 3 million copies in circulation. Yen Press began publishing the manga in English on September 17.
The story follows Shiki Ichinose, an Oni, who is raised by a Momotaro father. Those with Momotaro blood are generally hunting those with Oni blood, but Shiki was raised by a supposed enemy despite his rather angry characteristics. Upon losing his father, Shiki gets into a situation where he has to learn to control his power as he tries to learn more about the whole situation and get his revenge.
