The Colors Within (Kimi no Iro) movie by the director Naoko Yamada is getting a Blu-ray and DVD release on February 26, 2025. its August 30 premiere in Japan. The movie premiered in Japan on August 30, while the North American premiere is set for January 24, 2025. Studio Science SARU animated the movie.
The deluxe edition will include 4 minutes of additional content, as well as a 195-minute long bonus disc containing promotional videos, special music videos, event footage, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content. There will also be a 52-page booklet with the special packaging, including a foldable postcard.
Prior to its Japanese theatrical premiere, The Colors Within held its world premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2024. The movie was directed by Naoko Yamada, whom we’ve had the pleasure to interview about the work last month. Takashi Kojima was the character designer, with Kensuke Ushio as the music composer. The voice cast includes:

- Aoi Yuuki as Shino Nanakubo

The story follows Totsuko, a high school student with the ability to see the ‘colors’ of others. Her classmate at her school, Kimi, gives off the most beautiful color of all, and she forms a band with her and Rui, a quiet girl who likes music.
