Kowloon Generic Romance TV anime revealed the second trailer and key visual, along with an April 5, 2025 premiere date and an additional cast member. The anime was announced in October along with a live-action movie adaptation, which will also premiere this year. Studio Arvo Animation is in charge of the animation.
The trailer introduces Kengo Kawanishi, , with the voice cast now consisting of the following members:
- Tomokazu Sugita as Hajime Kudo
- Haruka Shiraishi as Reiko Kujirai
- Ryotaro Okiayu as Miyuki Hebinuma
- Taito Ban as Gwen Tao
- Aoi Koga as Yaomay
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Xiaohei
- Kengo Kawanishi as Yulong
The theme songs for the anime were also announced. The opening theme song is “Summer Time Ghost” by Wednesday Campanella, while mekakushe performs the ending song “Koi no Retronym.” You can hear the opening in the new trailer below.

This is another work from Jun Mayuzuki, who is also known as the creator of After the Rain. He began the Kowloon Generic Romance manga in 2019. It is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine and currently has 10 released volumes. Volume 11 is set to release on April 17, 2025. Yen Press licensed the manga in English, describing the story:

In the live-action movie, Riho Yoshioka will play Reiko and Koshi Mizukami will play Hajime.
