Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills (Mushoku no Eiyu) anime revealed the first teaser visual, along with the first cast and staff information. The anime will premiere in 2025. Studio A-CAT, which is also working on the The Beginning After the End (TBATE) anime, is in charge of the animation. The project was announced in October 2023.
Teaser Visual, Main Cast & Cast
Kensho Ono was announced as the voice actor for the main character Arel. The character is featured on the show’s first teaser visual, and he is described:
A boy born to Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon. At the age of 10, he was branded as “Jobless,” but through relentless effort, he eventually grew to surpass even those with innate talents and skills. He does not show much emotion and tends to go at his own pace, but he also has a strong competitive streak.

Background
Hero Without a Class: Who Even Needs Skills?! (Mushoku no Eiyu: Betsu ni Sukiru Nanka Iranakattan da ga) is a Japanese light novel series by Shichio Kuzu, featuring illustrations by Yumehito Ueda. The story was originally published online through the Shosetsuka ni Naro website, running from November 2017 to May 2020. It later became part of Earth Star Entertainment’s catalog, with the company beginning its print release under the Earth Star Novel imprint in July 2018. To date, four volumes have been published.
There is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Akio Nanae, which debuted in November 2018 on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website and has since been compiled into eight volumes. One Peace Books licensed the manga in English, describing the story:
In a world where everyone receives a Class and Skills at the age of ten, and where such revelations have a huge impact on one’s life, Arel, the son of Sword Princess Farah and Archmage Leon, learns that he has… no class at all! With no class, and no skills, all that’s left for Arel is hard work. And so, he takes to training, utilizing wits and cunning to emerge as an all-new type of hero!
