SAKAMOTO DAYS Season 2 TV anime has just been officially announced during the ongoing Jump Festa 2026 event. The first season made insanely strong numbers at Netflix, so it comes as little surprise that a sequel was green lit. A teaser visual and trailer were also shown.

Studio TMS Entertainment animated the first season, with the main staff of Masaki Watanabe as the director, Yo Moriyama as the character designer, Yuto Suzuki in charge of the screenplay and Taku Kishimoto in charge of the series composition.

Yuto Suzuki writes and draws the SAKAMOTO DAYS manga series. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 2020, with a total of twenty-five volumes released as of December 4, 2025. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English. The series also has an upcoming live-action film adaptation, which is set to release in Japan during the 2026 Golden Week (April 29 to May 5).
The story follows Taro Sakamoto, a legendary hitman who retired in order to marry and have a child. He now runs a store, but his past life is not that easy to get rid off. Despite looking very different as a retiree, Sakamoto will not hesitate to protect his family and take down anyone who tries to put them in danger.
