On July 26, 2021, the 50th Japan Cartoonists Association Awards took place, and Koyoharu Gotouge’s “Demon Slayer” manga won the grand prize in the Comic division. What’s more, Joruju Prioshiki’s self-published “NEW NORMAL!” received the grand prize in the Cartoon division. The Grand prize consists of a gold plaque, a medal, and 500,000 yen (~US$4,500). JCA presents the awards every year since 1972.

With the “Japan Cartoonists Association Award” given to the “Demon Slayer” manga, we truly cannot wait for the 2nd season of the anime adaptation to premiere this year! The manga has 23 volumes in total and ended on May 18, 2020.
