The anime is based on Kouta Amana’s Kinsou no Vermeil: Gakeppuchi Majutsushi wa Saikyou no Yakusai to Maho Sekai o Tsukisusumu (Vermeil in Gold) manga series. Square Enix has been serializing it with Yoko Umezu’s illustrations in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine since 2018, as of now, it has 6 volumes in circulation.
