Ayana Taketatsu, the voice actress of Kirino Kosaka in Ore no Imoto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo), covered the anime’s opening theme song “irony” on CrosSing. Japanese pop music duo ClariS originally performed the song. On the same day, the cover song titled “irony from CrosSing” was released on digital streaming platforms. The voice actress made her first appearance on the YouTube channel with Maaya Sakamoto’s “Platina,” Cardcaptor Sakura‘s opening theme song, in late August 2022.
The official Twitter account of CrosSing made a teaser one week ago, introducing the-then upcoming post as “Voice actress Ayana Taketatsu is covering “irony/ClariS” the OP theme song of popular anime #Oreimo that started broadcasting in 2010.” On the same day, the voice actress quote-tweeted it and told her fans that “Having received requests for another performance, I will have the opportunity to sing Oreimo’s OP ‘irony’✨” and also revealed “With this chance, I watched Oreimo again after a long while, and it was fun~☺️“.

Oreimo is a light novel series written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki. The series inspired two anime seasons, Season 1 (2010) animated by AIC Build and Season 2 (2013) by A-1 Pictures. Japanese pop music duo ClariS made their debut with the first season’s opening theme song “irony” in October 2010.
Other than Kirino Kosaka (Oreimo), Ayana Taketatsu played roles as Azusa Nakano (K-On!) and Nino Nakano (The Quintessential Quintuplets). She announced her marriage to voice actor Yuki Kaji (Elen Yeager in the Attack on Titan series) on June 23, 2019, and the married couple announced on June 30, 2022, that they are expecting their first child.
