The upcoming anime adaptation of Ragna Crimson has received a new key visual, as well as the first trailer featuring the main voice cast. The anime will premiere in 2023, with studio SILVER LINK. is in charge of the animation and Ken Takahashi as the director. Watch the new trailer:
Chiaki Kobayashi will voice Ragna, while Ayumu Murase will voice Crimson. Inori Minasse is also part of the main voice cast as Leonica. Check out the key visual featuring Ragna and Crimson:
Besides Ken Takahashi as the director, the main staff for the Ragna Crimson anime also includes Shinpei Aoki as the character designer and Deko Akao in charge of the series composition and script.
Ragna Crimson is based on the 2017 dark fantasy manga, which is written and illustrated by Daiki Kobayashi. It has been serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker since March 2017, while Square Enix Manga & Books licensed it in English. They describe the story:
Dragon hunters: warriors armed with special silver weapons who kill their prey for bounty. Lowest among their ranks is Ragna, who forms an improbable partnership with the young genius Leonica, a master dragon slayer with more kills to her name than almost any other. All Ragna wants is to stay by Leonica’s side, but his dream is shattered by an attack from the deadliest dragon imaginable…
