“Colors” (stylized as COLORs), the new single by Hiroyuki Sawano and Motohiro Hata, has received an animated music video by WIT Studio. The video is released under Toho Animation’s ‘Music Film’ project for its 10th-year anniversary. Tetsuro Araki, known as the director of Attack on Titan, Guilty Crown, Death Note, Highschool of the Dead and more recently Bubble, directed the animated music video.
“COLORs” by Hiroyuki Sawano and Motohiro Hata is one of the tracks in Sawano’s latest album titled V. The album was released under Sony Music Labels. Some of the other singles in the album include “Avid,” “Hands Up to the Sky,” “LilaS” (from 86 anime), “Outsiders” and “Lemonade.” It contains the two ending themes for the 86: Eighty-Six anime, and the ending theme for the original anime Fanfare of Adolescence.
Hiroyuki Sawano is a popular Japanese music composer, known for his musical scores in anime titles such as Attack on Titan, The Seven Deadly Sins, Blue Exorcist, Guilty Crown, Kill la Kill, Seraph of the End, and Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn. He was also involved heavily in the original soundtrack for Bubble. Motohiro Hata is a singer who has worked on several theme songs for anime titles such as Itazura na Kiss, Naruto: Shippuden, Kids on the Slope, Space Brothers, and on the anime film The Garden of Words.
WIT Studio was founded by Production I.G.’s producer George Wada on June 1, 2012. The current director of the studio is Tetsuya Nakatake. WIT currently employs around 130 animators, including Kyoji Asano, Satoshi Kadowaki, and Tetsuro Araki. The studio gained popularity with the first three seasons of Attack on Titan from 2013 to 2019. In recent years they have worked with titles such as Ranking of Kings (2021) and more recently Spy x Family, done in collaboration with CloverWorks.
