Chiaki’s Journey, a short racing animated series dedicated to the automaker brand Acura, has received a season 2 composed of four episodes. They are now available for streaming on Acura’s official YouTube channel.
The short anime series first premiered in 2022 and chronicled the adventures of Chiaki, a young racing talent, and her wise uncle Noboru. In the series’ second season, viewers will learn about Chiaki’s father, Ichiro, and Ichiro’s teammate from the past, called P, as Chiaki takes on Colorado’s daunting Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the new 2024 Integra Type S.
Season 2 of Chiaki’s Journey is meant to promote Acura’s new Integra Type S model. The new car model will make its motorsports debut on June 25 at The Broadmoor Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, co-presented by the popular racing game Gran Turismo and piloted by racer Loni Unser.
The official press release for the new Acura anime describes the series as:
Chiaki’s Journey chronicles a fun and exhilarating adventure centered on Chiaki, a young driving protégé, and her wise uncle Noboru. These characters represent the heritage and challenger spirit of the Acura brand and its unrelenting passion for performance. When emotions heat up at the local racetrack between Chiaki and her nemesis Erich Kang, Noboru steps in and mentors Chiaki, as she prepares to put her family legacy on the line in the biggest race of her life.
Chiaki’s Journey was produced by The Line Animation and MullenLowe Los Angeles. It’s worth noting that Acura is the luxury and performance division of Japanese automaker Honda.
