The Love Live spinoff Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- revealed a new trailer on Sunday. ABEMA will be streaming the anime a week early in Japan starting on June 25. The official premiere date has been set for July 2.
Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- was originally announced as an April Fools’ Day joke back in 2022. Bandai Namco Filmworks (aka Sunrise) is animating the anime Asami Nakatani as director. Toshiya Ono is supervising the scripts, Tatsuya Kato is composing the music, and Yumiko Yamamoto is in charge of character designs.
The Love Live franchise made an official announcement for the anime adaptation during the second day of the Aqours 6th live concert in June 2022 at Tokyo Dome. The first trailer of Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- was unveiled last March. The main cast includes the following:
- Aika Kobayashi as Yohane
- Kanako Takatsuki as Hanamaru
- Arisa Komiya as Dia
- Ai Furihata as Ruby
- Anju Inami as Chika
- Shuka Saito as You
- Nanaka Suwa as Kanan
- Rikako Aida as Riko
- Aina Suzuki as Mari
The other six cast members were announced at AnimeJapan 2023 this March.
Love Live Sunshine’s spin-off anime will adapt the manga written by Hajime Yatate and Sakurako Kimino with illustrations provided by Matsuda Kouta. The story revolves around the daily life of Yohane (Yoshiko Tsushima) in a fantasy world that takes place in Numazu, a beautiful port town surrounded by seas and mountains.
