Fool Night

A century after thick clouds blocked out the sun, Earth has become a freezing, oxygen-starved world where most plant life has disappeared. Humanity survives through “Transfloration,” a technology that transforms dying people into plants capable of producing precious oxygen. Trapped in poverty and struggling to support his ill mother, Toshiro Kamiya begins considering the procedure himself, forcing him to confront what it means to remain human in a society where even the body has become a resource.
