The upcoming season 2 of Goblin Slayer anime adaptation revealed a teaser visual on the official Twitter account with a message that “the second season is currently in production”. There is still no release date for the highly anticipated sequel.
Goblin Slayer anime is based on the light novel series by Kumo Kagyu. The light novel features a slew of characters, none of which have personal names. The titular protagonist is known as Goblin Slayer and rarely takes off his helmet. WHITE FOX animated the first season which aired in the Fall 2018 anime season. Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown sequel movie followed in 2020.
The second season was officially announced in January of 2021, but no additional information has been revealed since. Watch the announcement trailer:
Yen Press is publishing the light novel series in English and describes the plot as:
A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…
