The Goblin Slayer Season 2 finale is upon us as the episode is slated to air on Friday, December 22. Hideyuki Kurata is writing the script for the episode, which will be directed by Yu Harima. Liden Films’ Kyoto studio is credited for the storyboard. The same studio is animating the series.
The official website of Goblin Slayer anime describes the plot of the episode as:
After a fierce battle with goblins, the Goblin Slayers rescued the king’s sister who was kidnapped and taken to the “Labyrinth of Death.” However, due to the ritual completed by the Goblin Priest on the verge of his death, a powerful monster, the Hand of the Demon God, appears in this world. A ferocious blizzard is unleashed by the enemy. The party is helpless in the face of the difference in strength, but Goblin Slayer has a secret plan.
Goblin Slayer anime is based on the light novel series written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatuki. None of the characters in the story have a personal name – instead, they are all known by their titles. The titular protagonist is known as Goblin Slayer and rarely takes off his helmet. WHITE FOX animated the first season which aired in the Fall 2018 anime season and the Goblin Slayer: Goblin’s Crown sequel movie that followed in 2020. A manga adaptation by Kousuke Kurose is also ongoing.
Yen Press is publishing both the light novel and manga series in English and describes the plot as:
A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…
