Nina Kosaka, a VTuber part of the English Nijisanji lineup, announced that she will be graduating this July 8. This comes days after Japanese VTuber talent Mirei Gundo graduated from the agency following her suspension in March this year.
In a separate statement by Kosaka, she said that her graduation from Nijisanji was for her to pursue her own growth as a VTuber. She wants to be able to develop her skills and talents without the pressure of daily performance.
I began to realize there was a gap forming between what my fellow Livers were delivering, what I wanted to deliver, and what you all deserved. I wasn’t able to perform up to the standard I had set for myself, and so I came to the conclusion we have here today – I will be departing from NIJISANJI EN to pursue my own growth, to develop my skill and talents without the pressure of performing every day at a standard below my aspirations and goals.
Statement from Nina Kosaka
She also stated her gratitude towards her fellow VTuber talents, especially those part of her generation “Ethyria” alongside Millie Parfait, Enna Alouette, and Reimu Endou. In addition, she has also expressed thanks to her fans who have followed her along the way since her debut in 2021.
My time with you in NIJISANJI EN has been incredible. From Ethyria’s debut in October 2021 to now, our time together has been filled with admiration, excitement and happiness. Every single week I get to stream to this incredible community and to the Larger NIJISANJI EN fandom who have all been so welcoming, Loving, kind and patient. My heart is full of gratitude for each and every one of you. Thank you for walking alongside me on this journey. You’ve all changed my Life in such dramatic and positive ways. I have laughed, cried, grown and most importantly felt a sense of acceptance, accomplishment, and belonging from all of you. Thank you for giving me this gift.
Nina Kosaka debuted alongside the rest of the Ethyria wave in October 2021 and is described as a nine-tailed fox that presides over the heavens. As of this writing, she has over 500,000 YouTube subscribers and over 600,000 Twitter followers. Following her graduation, all of her social media channels will be set to private, and sales of related merchandise will be stopped gradually.
Nijisanji has been recently dealing with a slew of graduations with four members from its former Indonesian branch graduating this year: ZEA Cornelia, Taka Radjiman, Siska Leontyne, and Amicia Michella. It recently terminated one of its English talents Zaion Lanza as well over multiple offenses, and dismissed Yugo Asuma in December 2022.
