The upcoming Anime film The Deer King has been postponed to 2021, the film was originally scheduled to open in Japan this September 18, 2020. Production I.G will be animating the upcoming film.
The movie will be based on Naoko Uehashi’s novel of the same name, The Deer King directed by Masashi Ando, the animation director of Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Your Name. The co-director is Masayuki Miyaji, the script is written by Taku Kishimoto, and the animation is produced by Production IG of the “Ghost in the Shell” series.
