LiSA's Homura Certified Platinum In Japan, Dominates Oricon's Ranking For 9 Consecutive Weeks

As confirmed by The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), LiSA’s “Homura” or “Flame” has been certified platinum. It means it has shipped over 250,000 copies since its release on October 14 this year, 2 days before the movie. The official YouTube upload also testifies of its popularity. The video almost has 96 million views already after all! You can watch and listen to it below:

In addition, Oricon also keeps announcing how LiSA’s song is dominating their charts. The latest news is that it’s still on top after 9 consecutive weeks! The only other song to ever hold first place for 9 weeks was Kenshi Yonezu’s “Lemon” back in 2018. The official cover of the CD (standard edition) features the singer:

The limited edition jacket of the CD featured Rengoku instead:

Among many other records, the song was also the first to reach 100 million plays, as reported by Billboard Japan a few weeks ago. Both the song and movie are still going strong. “Demon Slayer: Infinity Train” has already left a huge mark, and it’s close to becoming the highest grossing film of all time in Japan. Don’t forget that there’s also a ton more material left of the manga, and it’s surely to get animated as well.

I love LiSA’s “Homura” and am sure that being certified platinum is not the end of its domination. As for the movie, still hoping we get a Blu-ray or international release date soon.
