Kotoyama’s popular supernatural romantic-comedy manga, Call of the Night, or Yofukashi no Uta in Japan, is approaching its final chapter. Chapter 192 was released in Japan on November 15th, 2023. With the author’s intention to conclude the series at chapter 200, there are only 8 chapters left to go. The manga has been running since 2019 and is expected to end in January 2024.
The popularity of Call of the Night rose after last year’s 13-episode anime adaptation by studio LIDEN FILMS. To commemorate the grand finale of the original manga, a series of collaborative events featuring Call of the Night will take place across Japan.
In Shibuya, there will be a limited-time Call of the Night collaboration pop-up shop held from November 23rd to December 12th, 2023 at THE SHIBUYA SOUVENIR STORE. The shop will feature original goods with Kotoyama’s illustration. Call of the Night LINE stickers are also set to be released on Japan’s most popular messaging app.
The eagerly anticipated 18th volume of Call of the Night is set to be released in Japan on November 17th. The copies will come with a special ticket, giving fans a chance to win exclusive headphones adorned with artwork of the story’s main female character, Nazuna. The 18th volume’s cover features Nazuna in a school uniform resting upon a desk.
Viz Media licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
One sleepless night, Ko slips out to walk the streets. Life after dark is a revelation! When flirtatious Nazuna invites Ko to spend the night at her place in an abandoned building, he’s stoked! But then he awakens to kisses on his neck with a little too much bite to them… Is it just the delicious taste of his blood that makes her meet him night after night for late-night adventures, conversation and…naps? Or something else? Then, when a cute girl from Ko’s past shows up and competes for his attention, his budding relationship with the undead is put to the test!
