Hololive Announces Collaboration With Los Angeles Dodgers

VTuber agency hololive has announced a collaboration with the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team. The collaboration will commence with a special game event called “hololive night” on July 5 at 7:10 PM (PDT). Participating VTuber talents include Hoshimachi Suisei, Usada Pekora, and Gawr Gura.

The participating hololive talents will be making special announcements over the PA system in the stadium during the “hololive night” event. Other features of the collaboration include a special photo spot with the talents’ life-sized cutouts in the stadium and a special themed drone show. There will also be collaboration merchandise available for purchase at the Dodger Stadium.

The event’s ticket package includes a game ticket and exclusive hololive trading cards in a pack of three featuring the collaborating talents donning the Dodgers uniform. In addition, Gawr Gura will also be singing “Take Me Out To The Ball Game,” considered the unofficial anthem of American baseball, during the game at the bottom of the seventh inning.

Although this is the first time hololive has collaborated with an overseas baseball team, the VTuber agency is no stranger to baseball in Japan. In 2021, hololive teamed up with the teams of the Japanese Pacific Baseball League for a special merchandise line. Participating teams at that time included Nippon Ham Fighters, Rakuten Eagles, Seibu Lions, Lotte Marines, Orix Buffaloes, and SoftBank Hawks. hololive also collaborated with the Yomiuri Giants in 2023 with the special event, streamed on the team’s official streaming service (Japan only) with event commentary by Amane Kanata and Hakui Koyori.
